It's the School Season Once Again! *sarcastic yay* (Part 1)

"Take care of yourself, take care of others, take care of this place/planet."

School- whether you love it or you hate it we all have to go. The first day of school is approaching and approaching fast. So here are my tips to get through your first few days of school. This is so you aren't like this:

Number One: Getting Your Teacher on Your Side

Most of us have had that one teacher, the one who'd give you candy to you when you were down, would give you an extra day to do your homework when you were overwhelmed, the one who you absolutely loved because he/she/they made you feel special. Here are somethings that I've found teachers like to see in kids:
  • Silence whilst (while) listening.
  • Focus.
  • Participation in class.
  • Kindness towards other students.
  • Inclusiveness when it comes down the group projects.
  • Determination and effort.
  • Responsibility (for example: doing your homework on time, finishing your assignments early, keeping your word).
  • Taking care of other classmates.
  • Doing your part in keeping your classroom clean.
  • Respect for others, yourself, the rules, and the world your in.
  • Being on time and always showing up (unless you're sick/at the doctor's, etc.)
See? It's not all about your intelligence, your grades, and your over all performance! You can be an average student and still have your teachers love you, you don't need to be the straight "A" student (though you should still aim for the best grades you can get, because if that C+ is the best you can do, it's an "A" in my book :D).
I know it's all easier said than done, but if you give everything your best effort, and if your teachers see that you are, you two are mostly likely going to be on good terms.
But what I mentioned isn't the guaranteed way to get teachers to love you. There are those teachers that so obviously hate children that you wonder how in Mira's name they've held their job for [insert time here] and why they decided to become a teacher. You know the one that was basically this:

Like in science, there is no 100% guarantee, to get teachers on your side, because it could come down to your personalities just don't mix.
These are somethings that teachers don't like seeing in students:
  • Bullying and rude behavior.
  • Disrespect towards yourself, others, and the world around you.
  • Loud, disruptive, and distracting behavior.
  • Getting out of your seat while the teacher is talking.
  • Cheating on papers.
  • Unnecessary talking/ talking whilst (while) the teacher is talking.
  • Inattention.
  • A lack of participation (although this is not the biggest point, this mixed with other things listed here can lead to a teacher's disapproval. This can also impact your grades because a lot of teachers grade you on participation. I'm not saying you should slack off in class either).
  • A lack of effort (like writing u on an essay in place of you).
  • Seeing slang and text talk (wanna, gonna, gotta, ttyl, omg, lol, jk, oml, smol, so on) in formal papers.
  • Procrastination, unreliability, and  irresponsibility.
  • Making the classroom messy and not doing your part in keeping it clean (pick up the pencil on the floor, Mira help me).
  • Leaving people out of group projects or not doing your part in group projects.
  • Skipping school/ being late.
There's probably more things that could be said, but you get the idea. This again can not apply to teachers, because there are those teachers that love their students no matter what, but remember that every person has a boiling point.

This post has already been kind of long, so I'm going to leave it here, check back soon for the other 2-3 parts!
